TS TECH Co.,Ltd., formulated its basic environmental policy in 1998. The policy guides the company's continuous environmental initiatives to achieve the targets of its environmental action plan. These initiatives include acquiring ISO 14001 certification for all facilities in Japan and key facilities abroad. Building on its considerable achievements to date, TS TECH continues to take on new challenges. One example is the deployment of a solar power generation system at the Saitama Plant, which has been supplying clean energy since April 1, 2006.
 The Saitama Plant has set its sights on becoming a world-class facility that sets the bar for other plants to follow. The plant is currently engaged in a major project to streamline its production systems through initiatives such as the establishment of a production line that integrates the flow of production from order acceptance through to shipment. Improving production efficiency alone, however, is not all it takes to become an example of a world-class plant. A solar power generation system was also adopted to help win the support of the local community. All in all, plant operations now fully consider both the local community and the global environment, while still maintaining high productivity.
The solar power generation system was installed on the rooftop of the newly built Parts Control Center, construction of which was completed in March 2006 as part of a major project to streamline logistics operations at the Saitama Plant. The installation includes 120 solar power generation modules covering about 200 square meters of rooftop space, and is designed to supply the plant with 17,947 kWh of energy annually.

 TS TECH is also addressing the need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions on many other fronts. In addition to engaging in steady efforts to conserve energy in daily operations, the company is actively pursuing other initiatives such as the adoption of solar power generation and other clean energy sources, and promoting efficient use of resources in the manufacturing of products. |
